Venice - Cologne 2017

20 - 26 August 2017: A dream tour. Dream route, dream weather and a record participation of 40 cyclists.

Before the morning of the departure in Venice on August 20, a strong thunderstorm had driven away all humidity. What remained was 25° C, dry air, Mediterranean climate, a fantastic scent and a bright blue sky. The first two days up to Merano were relatively flat along river valleys.
Then we went up to the Reschenpass.

The next day followed the crisp ascent to the almost 1,900m high Hahntennjoch, 1,100 meters of altitude difference on 13 km.

The last two days we cycled from Kassel to Cologne through the beautiful Sauerland. The stage from Kassel to Lennestadt is challenging and the landscape is also beautiful. An ideal tour for training rides.
